Acceptable Use Policy

Part of the Terms of Service. Applies to every organisation and every person who accesses a Tournabot workspace.

The service is operated by a registered Indian entity whose legal name and office address are not yet published (“Tournabot”, “we”, “us”). This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to every organisation and every person who accesses a Tournabot workspace (owners, staff, and anyone using credentials or bots you connect).

Capitalised terms have the meaning in the Terms unless stated otherwise.

1. Purpose

Tournabot provides B2B software so organisations can run Discord-centred tournament operations. This AUP draws bright lines so that:

• we remain a software vendor, not a payment or prize rail;
• Discord platform integrity is preserved for all tenants;
• personal data is not processed unlawfully;
• other organisations are not harmed by abuse of shared infrastructure.

2. Who this binds

You are responsible for:

• your staff’s use of the dashboard and bot commands;
• the Discord application and tokens you connect (paid tiers) or the use of the pooled bot (Free);
• configurations that publish forms, standings or overlays to participants and the public;
• instructions you give us through the product (as Data Fiduciary for tenant data).

If a staff member or automation you authorise violates this AUP, we treat it as your violation.

3. The money and Online Gaming Act boundary

You must not:

• use Tournabot to collect, hold, custody, route, split or disburse participant entry fees, slot fees, spectator ticket revenue or prize money;
• build or advertise a flow that makes Tournabot appear to be the merchant, escrow or payout agent for organiser↔player money;
• use fee-paid flags, roles or forms as a payment gateway substitute (they are records of off-platform arrangements only);
• use the Services to operate or facilitate online money games or to facilitate financial transactions for them, within the meaning of India’s Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 (in force 22 August 2025), or any successor law.

You must keep all organiser↔player and organiser↔spectator money entirely outside Tournabot. Breach of this section is a material breach of the Terms and may lead to immediate suspension.

4. Discord substrate rules

You must:

• comply with Discord’s Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Developer Policy and any other Discord rules that apply to your application or guild;
• configure intents (including Message Content, where you enable it) only for legitimate features you actually use;
• keep bot tokens secret; rotate and revoke on staff changes or suspected leak;
• avoid traffic patterns that trigger Discord abuse detection or degrade shared egress (including runaway automation and mass DM abuse beyond your plan’s honest use).

You must not:

• attempt to bypass Discord enforcement using Tournabot;
• use the pooled Free bot in a way that threatens other Free tenants;
• scrape or redistribute Discord API data in breach of Discord policy (including building banned cross-server profiling products).

We may quarantine egress, restrict features or disconnect an application to protect Discord platform integrity and other tenants.

5. Security, entitlements and platform integrity

You must not:

• attempt to defeat plan limits, feature flags, entitlement checks, rate limits or billing meters;
• probe, scan, penetrate or load-test the Services without our prior written approval;
• introduce malware, or use the Services to attack third parties;
• share accounts in a way that evades seat limits, or sell access to Tournabot as if you were the operator;
• access another organisation’s workspace or data;
• tamper with audit logs or attempt to erase evidence of abuse.

6. Content and communications

You must not upload or command the Services to send content that:

• is illegal under Indian law or the laws that apply to your event;
• is fraudulent, defamatory in a way you know to be false, or designed to harass;
• infringes others’ IP rights;
• is sexually exploitative of minors, or otherwise prohibited;
• constitutes unsolicited bulk messaging beyond legitimate tournament operations and your plan’s DM allowances.

Defang and mention-suppression behaviours in the product exist to reduce abuse; you must not attempt to circumvent them to mass-ping or inject hostile content.

7. Personal data and Conduct Network

You must:

• process participant personal data only with a lawful basis and for stated event purposes;
• not instruct Tournabot to process data you have no right to process;
• not attempt to store player age or children’s data through workarounds (Tournabot does not provide age fields by design);
• keep Conduct Network (and similar) reports honest, good-faith, and inside the categories the product provides;
• not use the Services to compile unlawful blacklists or to dox participants.

Cross-organisation read of conduct records remains off until counsel review — do not represent to players that a live national read network exists if the product flag is dark.

8. Competitions, eligibility and honesty

You are solely responsible for:

• your rules, eligibility, disputes and appeals with participants;
• any adult-population or title-rating attestations you make;
• the legality of your events under gaming, advertising and consumer law.

You must not use Tournabot branding to imply that we sanction, insure or underwrite your prize obligations — we do not hold prize money.

9. Prohibited activities (summary list)

Without limiting earlier sections, the following are prohibited:

1. Facilitating organiser↔player financial transactions on or through Tournabot.
2. Online money-game operation or facilitation using the Services.
3. Entitlement, billing or security circumvention.
4. Unauthorised access, scraping or interference with the Services or other tenants.
5. Discord policy violations and API abuse.
6. Unlawful, infringing or severely harmful content.
7. Knowing false conduct reports or abusive dossier-building.
8. Misrepresentation that Tournabot collects entry fees or pays prizes.
9. Resale of the Services except as expressly allowed in writing.
10. Any use that creates material criminal or regulatory risk for Tournabot under Indian law, including the Online Gaming Act, 2025 and DPDP.

10. Enforcement

We may, with or without prior notice where urgency requires:

• warn the workspace owner;
• disable specific features or commands;
• move the workspace to quarantine egress;
• suspend paid entitlements or the workspace;
• terminate the workspace under the Terms;
• report conduct to Discord, Razorpay, or law enforcement when appropriate;
• preserve logs for investigation and legal defence.

Emergency suspension is more likely where §3 (money / Online Gaming Act) or active security abuse is involved.

11. Reporting

If you believe another tenant is abusing the Services in a way that affects you or Discord platform safety, contact the contact page with evidence (workspace identifiers, timestamps, screenshots). Do not attempt counter-abuse.

12. Changes

We may update this AUP with the Terms. Material changes will be announced to workspace owners with reasonable notice unless a faster change is required for legal or security reasons.
